Stay Warm This Winter with an Oil Space Heater

The oil space heater is nothing new, as these devices have been around for quite some time. However, they are new and improved because the manufacturers have made improvements over the years and made these heaters not only more efficient but much safer. In the first days of these units an oil room heater could have posed a safety issue if the oil were to leak out. However today the metal fins of the heaters are welded shut and tested extensively to make sure no leakage of oil can occur.

There are different sizes of room heaters that put out different levels of heat. For example you may need a small heater for your dorm room, bedroom or small apartment. Of course you might also require a larger radiator style heater to heat a larger space. Luckily there are units on the market today to meet any heating need. When shopping for a space heater the first thing you should know is how economical these units really are. You never have to replace the oil inside, which saves both money and hassle. They offer years of warmth using the oil originally placed inside the metal body by the manufacturer.

When shopping for a space heater always look for the UL symbol on the box or heater. UL is a commonly seen symbol and stands for Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. This corporation tests all kinds of appliances and products for quality and safety, and is very stringent in their requirements. Therefore when you see this marking you can trust the product you are buying has been tested and retested under all kinds of conditions and has been deemed safe and effective.

There are many stores from which you can buy an oil space heater. Home improvement stores like Lowe's and Home Depot have them, as do discount department stores like Wal-Mart, K-Mart and Target. Brand names you'll find include Honeywell, Lakewood and DeLonghi just to name three. Prices for these heaters range as low as $30 to more than $100 depending on where you shop and the size heater you choose. Also the features available on the heater may also factor into the price. A little comparison shopping can help you find the best heater for your budget and your needs.
